Crowns, bridges, and Invisalign all require a precise fit. If the shape of your dental solution is even slightly off, it won’t be able to do its job right.
If there are any shaping issues with your traditional impression, your dentist may not notice until after it’s sent to the lab. When a shaping issue occurs, you have to come back in for a shape correction, which involves anesthetic and another traditional impression. Digital impressions virtually eliminate this possibility.
Not only do you avoid biting down on a rubbery substance for five minutes, but you also avoid the inconvenience of multiple visits.
Our digital impressions better ensure the correct result the first time! But just in case . . .
The dentist can easily make small corrections without a total redo of the impression:
With digital impression the dentist gets a preview of the cast or model and the clearance and the bite. Sometimes your impression reveals a tooth needs further alteration, but this does not mean you have to redo the entire digital impression! We just take a split-second photo snapshot of the corrected area, and viola! The iTero computer updates your scan with the new shape, all during the same appointment.
